The rohe of Waiariki comprises the Bay of Plenty region and Taupō District, including the major population centres of Tauranga, Whakatāne, Rotorua, and Taupō.

Case study participants within this rohe include Tauhara North No. 2 Trust, Opepe Farm Trust, and Whakarewarewa. These case studies explore the specific effects of climate change from an iwi/Māori-led perspective.
