The rohe of Te Tai Tokerau spans all of Northland, from the North Shore suburbs of Auckland city in the south to Cape Reinga | Te Rerenga Wairua at the northern tip of the motu. Cities and towns in this rohe include Whangārei, Kaikohe, Waitangi, Kerikeri, and Kaitaia.

Case study participants within this rohe include Ngātiwai, Te Rūnganga o Te Rarawa, Ngāti Hine Forestry Trust, and Ngāti Kuri.
